Boomerang

Interior design, Living room

Located in the heritage-listed suburb of Haberfield, this lovely two storey terrace is home to a contemporary art gallerist, her builder husband, and their two young children.

This transformation needed to ensure that the street-view of the property remained sympathetic to the character and feel of the area. The rear was a different story,

In collaboration with Chesterman design and architecture, the primary goals were to open up the dining space and kitchen to a back living area allowing a seamless connection to the backyard, and to provide the family with a clean canvas to bring their elaborate art collection to life around them. This was achieved with a pared back palette of black and white, allowing the various works to pop, and to add cohesion and function to the main family spaces. Works by artists Gregory Hodge and Glen Barkley are showcased to name a few. With a concealed bar in the joinery this home is made for entertaining.
