Ivanhoe

This charming bungalow located in Sydney’s inner west suburb of Marrickville is home to a fashion stylist, her chef husband and their daughter.  Prior to the renovation there were generous bedrooms at the front, but the rest of the house was cloistered and dark, with only a small internal living space, a tiny kitchen and original laundry and single bathroom at the back. Working in collaboration with architect firm Hosking Monro, this extension ensured this home fits in with the needs and modern lifestyle of this busy (and growing) family.

By opening up the back of the house and extending out into a long rear yard, we were able to create an open plan space for the new kitchen, living and dining areas, and bring light, air and breathing space into the rest of the house. The entire home now flows perfectly.
